RT- DAS (Real-Time Data Acquisition system) Control System under the IPDS scheme of the Government of India, was inaugurated at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh (A.P) on 29.10.2021 as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of India’s independence. The project was inaugurated by Shri K Santhosala Rao, CMD, APEPDCL in the presence of Senior Officers from PFC and APEPDCL
RT- DAS Control System, known for automated monitoring of power supply, was sanctioned with a cost of Rs 4.80 crore. The Control system will benefit more than 36 towns in the surrounding areas. With the regular monitoring of the reports received from the RT-DAS system, necessary efforts are being made to provide an uninterrupted power supply to the consumers by reducing the power interruption.
In the recent past, PFC has commissioned the substations and RT-DAS systems in various cities such as Dehradun (Uttrakhand), Solan (H.P), Bhagalpur( Bihar), Dharmanagar(Tripura), Bandipora (J&K), Purnia (Bihar). Further, PFC was recently conferred with the Maharatna status by the Government of India giving the company greater operational and financial autonomy.
