Two 33/11 KV Substations were inaugurated in Wangoi and Yairipok, Manipur, as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by Shri Th. Biswajit Singh, Honble Minister of Power, Public Works Department, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Commerce & Industries, Administrative Reforms & Training, Information & Public Relations, and Shri O. Lukhoi Singh, Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture, Veterinary. The event was attended by Shri N.Sarat Singh, MD, Manipur State Power Company Limited, Shri N Dwijen Singh, ED (Civil & Generation), MSPCL, Shri H Shantikumar Singh, ED (Tech) MSPCL & MSPDCL discom, and officials from PFC.
The inauguration ceremony began with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries which was followed by a cultural performance by the local artists showcasing Manipur’s rich tribal and cultural heritage commemorating the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence. As a gesture of goodwill, the villagers made an ‘Athenpot’ offering to the Chief-guest, symbolic of the customary ritual in the Manipuri community.
These sub-stations will benefit close to 3000 households in both of these areas, thereby improving the quality of power supply and reducing the AT&C losses in these areas.
